Ouzo Bay
Ouzo Bay, Atlas Restaurant Group’s first high-end restaurant, is a Mediterranean and Greek inspired restaurant known for its fresh fish that’s been flown in from around the world, showcased in a display within the restaurant.
Entrusted with the exciting task of reinventing both the menu book and its contents, I was immediately faced with the challenge of avoiding the all-too-familiar clichés that are often associated with Mediterranean concepts. My primary goal was to create designs that would provide a fresh perspective. The menu book drew inspiration from the restaurant's renewed back bar with intricate white tile mosaic while also keeping with the traditional blue and white Greek color scheme. “Flash Blue” paper by Neenah was introduced—a material that, when touched by light, imitates the shimmering of fish scales. I opted for a classic yet sophisticated combination of typography, fusing serifs with sans serifs which nods to traditional Greek typography.
